"God allows musicians to serve Him in as great a capacity as they are capable to do based on their spiritual and musical preparation. Therefore, one should plan for life-long continued music preparation in order to be able to give God the best that a Christian musician is capable of giving musically.
"In the midst of a busy music career it sometimes seems that Jesus is saying “do it all yourself”. What we often forget is that although the Lord does expect our meager musical “loaves and fish”, God blesses our work and provides for the “five thousand”. God takes whatever we have and when He has blessed it, it is enough and it will be sufficiently proper to accomplish the music education task. "It is our responsibility to give of our best educational and musical efforts to the Master, and it is His responsibility to bless our music education ministry so that it will be effective. Jesus said that it is our responsibility to provide for our own household. However, He does not expect us to do it with our own strength or power. We are required to give those who are under our tutelage the best that we have, but we must remember that our teaching and our musicing will only accomplish the desired task if we will let Him “bless and break” our efforts so that they will feed all those who are under our musical instruction." ~Garen L Wolf I, Music Philosophy in Christian Perspective |
